Meet our current nephrology fellows at Tufts Medical Center

Cooking and innovating new dishes, hiking and immersing myself in nature, painting, and being able to express my Cuban heritage by dancing salsa, merengue, and bachata.
I chose the Nephrology program at Tufts Medical Center due to its reputation for excellence in renal medicine and comprehensive training opportunities. Tufts has a robust curriculum with basic modalities (ie. Advanced renal physiology, transplant medicine, home dialysis, peritoneal dialysis etc.) needed to become a competent and well-rounded nephrologist. During my interview, Tufts Medicine stood out as the program that truly balanced excellence and collaboration among fellows, faculty, and staff.

Spending time with my family, needlepoint, cooking, traveling to different countries, running, hiking at national parks
Tufts MC Nephrology has everything I was looking for in a fellowship program: excellent clinical training, amazing co-fellows, experts in the field who also prioritize mentorship, and endless medical education and clinical research opportunities. I consider Tufts home and am thrilled to kickstart my career in nephrology at a place that is equally kind as it is supportive.

During my time in medical school and residency I have been impressed by the dedication to patient care, student and resident education, and clinical research. The Nephrology department has filled leadership positions in the hospital and medical school as well as participating in educational initiatives at all levels. The warmth among the staff of the department is why I chose this program, most of all. I could not imagine myself anywhere else!

Transplant Nephrology
I enjoy reading and making organic soaps.
I chose Tufts Medicine because of its collegial work environment and very strong training, especially with home HD modalities, transplant and deciphering cardiorenal etiologies.

My very first fellowship interview was with Tufts Medical Center, and it was a standout from the start. I was searching for a strong clinical training program in nephrology, and Tufts offered the most clinical time, the most peritoneal dialysis exposure, and the most varied renal pathologies. The sense of community and respect that came through on interview day was not overstated; the camaraderie in the nephrology department is second to none. I have felt well-supported since starting, and although it is early, I could not imagine doing fellowship anywhere else.

Various RRT modalities and glomerulonephritis
I love hiking and exploring national parks. When I'm not out in nature, I enjoy staying in, reading a good book, or painting.
One of the things that stood out to me during my interview at Tufts Medicine was how genuine and collaborative the department felt. Now, as a fellow, I continue to be impressed by the incredibly supportive and educational environment while learning from the best in the field. The program offers a broad range of clinical experiences and truly sets the foundation to become a well-rounded nephrologist.

Tufts MC offered everything I was looking for in a fellowship training program. The research track allows for dedicated time for research and to obtain a master's degree in clinical and translational research. On the clinical side of things, we get to see all aspects of nephrology and the attendings are some of the most intelligent and kind people I have interacted with in medicine.
