Since its founding in the 1950s, the Nephrology Fellowship Program at Tufts Medical Center has prepared hundreds of physicians for successful careers in clinical nephrology, clinical research and laboratory science. Our ACGME-accredited program offers a personalized, hands-on training experience in the heart of Boston—designed to help you grow into a leader in kidney care.

Since the 1950s, Tufts Medical Center has trained hundreds of nephrologists who’ve gone on to lead in academic medicine, clinical practice, and research. Our program combines a proud history with a forward-looking, personalized approach to training.

Fellows receive dedicated training in outpatient hemodialysis and home dialysis—something not all Boston programs offer. With your own panel of dialysis patients and a strong focus on peritoneal dialysis, you’ll graduate with confidence and real-world experience.

We tailor the second year of fellowship to your goals. Whether you're interested in research, transplant, glomerular diseases or medical education, you’ll work with your mentor to design rotations and learning opportunities that prepare you for what’s next.
