The one-year ACGME-accredited Dermatopathology Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston offers an immersive high-volume training experience designed to prepare fellows for advanced careers in dermatopathology. The program blends clinical exposure, diagnostic expertise and professional development to give trainees a comprehensive understanding of the field.

Fellows train across the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology at Tufts Medical Center and complete a comprehensive sign-out experience at Inform Diagnostics (InformDx). Training includes rotations in adult and pediatric care, surgical clinics and Mohs micrographic procedures. Fellows also gain hands-on experience with:

  • A wide range of inflammatory, infectious and neoplastic skin diseases, providing extensive case diversity
  • Collaboration with dermatology, pathology and subspecialty experts to foster multidisciplinary learning
  • Immunofluorescence, immunoperoxidase techniques and digital pathology tools for advanced diagnostic skills
  • Laboratory management education including histopathology operations, safety, compliance, certification, budgeting and quality control
  • Opportunities for clinical research, publications and presentations at national meetings
  • Participation in didactics and teaching sessions to develop communication and educational skills

This integrated approach ensures that fellows not only develop strong diagnostic expertise but also gain mentorship, professional guidance and high-volume exposure to diverse cases. Graduates leave the program well-prepared to excel in academic medicine, clinical practice and research leadership.

The one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship at Tufts Medical Center offers immersive training in dermatopathology. Fellows build the skills and experience needed to excel in academic medicine or clinical practice.

With two training tracks, the fellowship is tailored to candidates with backgrounds in either dermatology or pathology. Each path provides focused preparation while ensuring every fellow gains comprehensive dermatopathology expertise.

Fellows receive one-on-one mentorship from faculty and hands-on experience at both Tufts Medical Center and Inform Diagnostics. This combination of guidance and clinical exposure prepares graduates to thrive as leaders in the field.
