Why Tufts Medicine?

I worked at Tufts MC as an ED technician prior to medical school, and it means the world to return as a physician. As an anesthesia resident, I participate in the rapid mobilization of our hospital's critical care infrastructure, delivering swift care to one of Boston's most complex patient populations. Residency leadership is of high integrity, committed to the mission of excellent training in a supportive environment. The complete skillset of my senior residents, as well as their recent success in the fellowship match and job recruitment alike, give me confidence that I will be able to mold my ideal career path following residency at Tufts Medical Center.

Why Tufts Medicine?

I chose Tufts Medicine because of the strong emphasis on critical care training I noticed on my interview trail. The ICUs at Tufts MC are run by intensivists from different training pathways, which offers unique insights and knowledge to us trainees. I was also interested in the curriculum designed for PGY-1 year, which includes rotations in a variety of both surgical and medical services. I have been able to work closely with colleagues from all specialties, through working the long days and nights, forming strong bonds with one another. Additionally, Boston holds a special place in my heart as the first city in the U.S. that made me feel truly at home. The vibrant medical community and diverse patient population make Tufts an ideal place to continue my training. I am grateful to be part of a program that combines excellent clinical education with supportive, inspiring colleagues.

Why Tufts Medicine?

The culture, the people and their dedication to the program. The program leadership and residents have cultivated such strong bonds with each other, and this shined through in every interaction I had with the program throughout the interview process. The combination of a high acuity caseload and patients with complex comorbidities, coupled with the program's post-resident placement history, made it an easy choice. Boston was the cherry on top!

Why Tufts Medicine?

Tufts MC has a very warm learning environment filled with people who are always willing to teach and support each other. At the same time, the patients at Tufts MC are clinically complex and provide very good learning exposure. The diverse patient population was also a big draw for me. I love how close the residents are to each other because of the small class size and Boston is an amazing city to live in!

Why Tufts Medicine?

I was initially interested in Boston because of the rich history of the city and the beautiful scenery of the Northeast. I was further drawn to Tufts MC because of this department's reputation for strong didactics, supportive leadership and a complex patient population. I was also looking for a smaller to mid-sized program, so I would be able to get to know and learn from my attendings and co-residents in a more personal setting
