During this rotation, students will gain a broad exposure to the field of neurosurgery. Students will perform inpatient consultations, evaluate patients in the emergency room, see patients in the outpatient clinic, round on the inpatient service and scrub in for surgical cases. Medical students will also participate in our education conferences, including journal club, neuroanatomy, neurosurgery case presentation and neurosurgery/neuroradiology case conference. Students will have the opportunity to give a 15-minute presentation on a neurosurgical topic at the conclusion of their rotation.
