Residents at Tufts have diverse opportunities to enrich their education tailored to their educational and career aspirations. Starting in their PGY-2 or PGY-3 year, residents can opt to join a Track. These Tracks provide residents with specialized skills and additional mentorship, focusing on research or scholarly projects within the specific content area of the Track. The program remains dedicated to expanding Tracks based on resident interest and fostering continued growth and development.

The Tufts Residency Program celebrates resident scholarly achievements through an annual event known as GME Scholarly Work Week, affectionately referred to as GLOW week. This week-long celebration kicks off with a vibrant poster session where residents and fellows highlighting their research. During the week, residents deliver oral presentations of their scholarly work during noon conferences, and the week concludes with Grand Rounds featuring four invited residents and fellows discussing their scholarly work to the whole department. It's a wonderful opportunity for residents to showcase their contributions to advancing medical knowledge and fostering academic excellence within our program.

The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) at Tufts Medical Center is dedicated to investigating the molecular mechanisms of common cardiovascular diseases and translating those discoveries into new clinical strategies for diagnosis and therapy to prevent and treat various forms of heart disease including heart attack, high blood pressure and heart failure.

In addition to rotations at Tufts Medical Center, our residents enjoy clinical rotations at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) which is the principle teaching hospital for the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Children's Hospital.
