Overview

This study seeks to obtain cancer and healthy tissue from women with metastatic ovarian cancer. The tissue will be used in a preclinical study to develop a multi-scale imaging probe that can better detect cancer metastases.

Study details

Inclusion Criteria
  • Women 18 to 99 years old
  • Suspicion or diagnosis of metastatic ovarian cancer
  • Undergoing a planned debulking operation
Exclusion Criteria
  • emergency operation
Study Requirements

During the operation, a small biopsy will be obtained from the inner lining of the abdominal wall. In addition, any tumor tissue that was excised according to standard treatment will be assessed to obtain small samples from tissue that otherwise would not be used for clinical care. The sample from the inner lining of the abdominal wall and samples from tumors will be send to Tufts University for research analysis.
