Rheumatology Fellowship Program

Build your future in rheumatology

The Rheumatology Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center offers two years of expert-led training to prepare you for a rewarding career in this growing field. Our mission is to develop skilled and compassionate rheumatologists through hands-on learning, strong mentorship and meaningful clinical experiences.

The fellowship offers a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum that prepares you for success in clinical practice, while also allowing you to tailor your experience toward academic medicine or research. With continued ACGME accreditation and no citations, our program provides a strong and steady foundation. We welcome two fellows one year and one fellow the next, ensuring you’ll receive focused support and direct access to faculty.

You’ll train in a collaborative, respectful environment where open dialogue is encouraged and your goals are supported. We value the unique perspectives every fellow brings and create space for each person to thrive.

What you’ll get:

We’re here to support your success in clinical care, research and academic medicine—all in a welcoming environment that helps you thrive.

Matched to desired career path

You’ll work one-on-one with expert faculty who are invested in your success. Our small size means you’re never just a number—you’ll have direct access to mentors who listen, guide and challenge you to grow into the rheumatologist you want to become.

We shape your training around your future. Whether your path leads to clinical care, research or academic medicine, we help you get there with built-in flexibility and optional research support through Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

You’ll be part of a team that treats each patient and colleague as an individual, honoring their unique background and health journey. Fellows engage in community outreach and collaborate on projects that address real-world health gaps, adding purpose and depth to your clinical training.
