The mission of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program is to develop outstanding sub-specialists in hematology and oncology who will be leaders in their area of interest and setting of their choice.

Educational goals
The primary educational goals for fellows are to:
- Develop clinical expertise in the management of patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases in order to be able to pass certifying examinations in hematology and medical oncology and to practice at the level of an independent subspecialist.
- Develop an understanding of the scientific process underlying biomedical research in the field of hematology/oncology.
- Develop expertise in quality and safety systems in health care pertaining to the care of patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases.
