Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) provides support for clinical studies and trials through its Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC). Formerly known as the General Clinical Research Center, it has been in continuous operation since 1961.

Overview
The CTRC supports high-quality, innovative clinical research across Tufts CTSI partners and collaborators. Overseen by its Scientific Director, the CTRC provides infrastructure to conduct state-of-the-art clinical trials involving neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric research participants to study the causes and progression of human disease. This includes services at outpatient or inpatient facilities at Tufts Medical Center, Lowell General Hospital, Melrose Wakefield Hospital and other locations of care as a "CTRC without walls."
The CTRC supports every aspect of a clinical study, such as:
- Regulatory and coordination support
- Data collection
- Routine and specialized nursing
- Sample collection
- Processing
- Short-term and long-term storage and shipment
- For more information, please visit the CTRC services and facilities page
To Initiate a Service Request:
- Download and complete the requisition form, then email it to CTRCManagement@tuftsmedicine.org
or - Submit a service request through our online system.
Investigators requesting budgets must complete both steps above. This applies to all budget requests, including those for studies requiring external or internal funding (e.g., NIH) that will be conducted fully or in part in the CTRC.
The CTRC team can develop budgets and assist with customized, study-specific documents for the resources/environment and budget sections of your application.
