Kathryne Adams, MD
Rush Medical College
I was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey. While I will always be a Jersey girl, I left to study psychology at Boston University. After undergrad, I was a mental health care worker for a year and half in upstate New York. I then left the East Coast to attend Rush Medical College in Chicago, Il. Tufts gave me the opportunity to come back home and I have loved every minute of it! When I’m not caring for patients, I’m re-exploring Boston, connecting with friends, or embracing all New England has to offer!
Khalid Alshaibani, MD
King Saud University, Riyadh College of Medicine
Born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I completed my medical degree at King Saud University. While initially training in general surgery at the University of Illinois/MGH program in Chicago for a year, I realized that my long-standing interest in psychiatry was my true calling. Making the switch to psychiatry has been immensely gratifying, allowing me to engage deeply with patients and their mental health. Every day, I find myself grateful for making this change, and it brings me immense fulfillment and joy especially here at Tufts. Outside of work, you'll often find me savoring a cup of coffee or engaged in quiet meditation.
Elliott Baker MD, MS
Creighton University School of Medicine
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm an avid sports fan. I played most sports growing up, and I played tennis in college at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I love to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes, Creighton Bluejays, Chicago Bulls, and any NFL game. One of my other hobbies is cooking. I started cooking a lot in medical school and found it to be really fun/stress relieving. When I started medical school, I wasn't sure what specialty I was going to go into. I loved my 3rd year psychiatry rotation and realized this is the patient population that I wanted to serve. My favorite things to do in Boston are walking my dog Otis through the South End and eating at all the fantastic restaurants around the area.
Quinn MacDougald, MD
Tulane School of Medicine
I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. I did my undergraduate just down the road at the reigning football national champion University of Georgia where I majored in Biology and Psychology. I then went down to the Big Easy to study Bayou medicine and earn my MD at Tulane, where I also labored hard at other important life skills like costume design, mixology, and learning about local cultural traditions such as voodoo. I considered psychiatry heavily in medical school but applied into internal medicine with an open mind. I did my intern year at the University of Utah where I honed more important life skills like hyponatremia pathways, lots of cycling and lots of skiing. I ultimately decided though that psychiatry would be a better fit for me because I realized that what drew me into medicine in the first place was exploring the human experience, and psychiatry does that better than any other specialty. When I’m not at work I’m probably riding my road bike, planning a hiking/camping/skiing trip, or watching my Georgia Bulldogs.
Suchakree Sanguansataya MD
Texas A&M College of Medicine
I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA before moving to Upstate New York, and eventually West Texas. I attended The University of Texas at Austin where I received my degree in Psychology with a minor in Organic Chemistry. I then went on to attend my alma mater's biggest rival for medical school, Texas A&M College of Medicine in Dallas, TX. For residency, I came to Tufts Medical Center because it allows me to work with a diverse patient population and learn from some of the greatest minds in the field of psychiatry all while living in one of the most iconic and beloved cities in the nation. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy cooking, photography, weightlifting, soccer, and of course traveling!
Nils Wendel, MD
Penn State College of Medicine
I was born and raised in New York's Hudson Valley, got my B.Sc. in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University, spent 2 years working in a lab in NYC, and then did my 4 years of medical school at Penn State. I'm very much oriented towards outpatient work that will allow me to blend psychopharm and psychotherapy, and I'm particularly interested in the recent re-emergence of psychedelic/empathogen assisted therapies. Outside of work you can find me reading a fantasy epic, trying new restaurants (and visiting old ones), and playing any sort of game I can get my hands on.
Alicia Wu, MD
Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
I grew up in a small town in Westchester, NY before heading out to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA to earn a degree in Chemistry. I then returned to the east coast to attend Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. Psychiatry was never my passion from the start, but after my psychiatry clerkship in my third year of medical school, I realized that this is where I feel I can do the most good while feeling satisfied and happy with my work. I’m especially happy to be at Tufts due to our patient population and our amazing location in the middle of Chinatown. I love to bake, plan/dream about future international trips, and convince my friends from college to visit me in Boston!
