White, president and CEO of Lowell General Hospital and Circle Health, joined Gov. Charlie Baker, Health and Human Services Secretary Marylou Sudders and Boston Medical Center CEO Kate Walsh for a press conference on hospital preparedness for the next wave of COVID-19.
White, who also serves as Chair of the Trustees for the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association, said patients in the Merrimack Valley and across the state should have great confidence that hospitals are safe and prepared.
“We don’t know what a second wave of COVID-19 will look like exactly, but we are in a much stronger position to respond due to the many lessons learned from the unprecedented challenges we faced earlier this year,” he said.
White praised the partnership and support from Governor Baker’s administration throughout the pandemic response, and said those partnerships would remain vital moving forward.
He also urged patients to feel safe seeking out care.
“Please do not delay care and remain engaged with your doctors and care teams,” White said. “We are well-equipped to handle any needs you may have, whether it be through in-person appointments or telehealth services. We are here for you, and you are safe with us.”
